Congratulations to our first Diploma achievers!

We’re delighted to announce that the first 3 learners to complete the full diplomas at BIFM Levels 4, 5 and 6 have all been confirmed as having passed the course. Congratulations to Darren Shiels and Naomi Crossan, both from Ernst & Young, who recently passed their Level 6 and Level 5 diplomas respectively, as well as Dawn Marshall of Sodexo who passed her Level 4 in the latter stages of 2010. The Value of Training Staff…..

It is widely accepted that staff are an organisation’s most expensive resource and as such should be valued as a very expensive asset.  Physical assets, particularly expensive machinery, are valued highly as they are viewed by an organisation as being vital to the continued operation of the business.  If a machine breaks down, production ceases and profits are lost.  So, to ensure that assets continue to perform at their optimum they are regularly maintained, ideally proactively, not waiting until they break down but providing a service to keep them constantly operating at full strength. Behind the scenes at British American Tobacco

Thanks to a close business relationship with Richard Steel, Security Services Manager at British American Tobacco (BAT), who recently came to the Xenon Group to undertake facilities management training and ultimately completed his BIFM Level 4 Diploma with us, I’ve been granted the opportunity to spend a few days on-site at Globe House, the BAT Global HQ in London. As well as giving me the opportunity to see a well-oiled facilities management machine in action, the experience has also demonstrated  a number of ideas and initiatives that are in place at Globe House that I think would be a worthwhile addition to any FM’s toolbox. Our thoughts on Th!nkFM 2011

This week, Xenon Group Managing Director David Morris gives his thoughts on the BIFMs Th!nkFM 2011 conference.

So the Th!nkFM conference event dawned.  How was it for me?  Well, to be honest, I was never expecting it to be a huge success.   Apart from the negativity emanating from various LinkedIn forums, I had also posed a LinkedIn question as to who was attending and received an almost deafening silence.
