ELCAS - Enhanced Learning Credits for Service Personnel
Making the Transition
During your time within Her Majesty's Services you will have gained experience and knowledge which will equip you well for your transition into civilian life. Depending on your role within the Services, those skills could be transferable into a career within Facilities Management.
Perhaps surprisingly for those still serving, it is a relatively common transition, with many personnel from all three Services gaining successful employment within the Facilities Management industry.
By undertaking an accredited Facilities Management course you can underpin your experience and gain the knowledge required to enable you to operate effectively within the industry.
The start point is to correctly identify which Level of course is right for you. At the Xenon Group, we are currently the only tuition provider to offer all four levels from Level 3 through to Level 6 as interactive workshops at our training venues in London and Leeds. We also offer the Levels 3, 4 and 5 as distance learning packages, offering you comprehensive tutorial support throughout your time studying with us.
Moreover, as a Company we are not just totally focused on Facilities Management but we also have extensive previous experience of the military. Our Managing Director spent 20 years in the Royal Air Force finishing his service career as Facilities Director of RAF Lossiemouth and Station Commander at RAF Church Fenton before joining Johnson Controls as Operations Director.
Several of our other tutors are also ex-Service and have very successfully made the transition to hold senior positions within companies such as Land Securities Trillium and Sodexo. This means we have extensive knowledge of the inherent skills service personnel have and so we can accurately and confidently help you to assess the best level for you to commence your studies.
ELCAS
The Ministry of Defence has made funding available for serving and ex-military personnel to allow them to undertake accredited study as part of their resettlement programme. Up to £2000 per year is available with a 20% contribution from the individual. The money can only be used towards an accredited programme at Level 3 or above and courses have to be studied through an ELCAS accredited tuition provider.
The Xenon Group was the first tuition provider to be accredited by ELCAS to offer Facilities Management courses under the scheme and are currently providing FM accredited training for Service personnel from all three Services.
The Next Steps….
Once you have decided which the most appropriate course is for you, you will need to apply to ELCAS for funding quoting our tuition provider number which is 2880. You will then receive a Claim Authorization Note (CAN) which you will need to forward with your completed enrolment form to:
